At present I wished to visualise some nice information from Kent Lee Platt’s Relative Athletic Scores (RAS) for cornerbacks (CB). Here’s a hyperlink to Platt’s web site in case you haven’t seen his work  https://ras.soccer/.

To qualify for a RAS rating, a participant will need to have a complete of six recorded metrics from any of the next: Top, Weight, Forty-yard sprint, Twenty-yard break up, Ten-yard break up, Bench Press, Vertical Leap, Broad Leap, Brief Shuttle, and 3-Cone. The participant is then graded on every compared to the positional database since 1987 to get extra of a really feel of their dimension, pace, explosion, agility, and complete worth, giving context to the uncooked numbers.

The objective of the collection is to offer the RAS from Platt, and visualize it to get a simultaneous view of all of the gamers at their place that participated on the mix. Listed here are the gamers that certified for a RAS:

5 gamers have a RAS above 9, in comparison with seven in my 2024 CB RAS article. That article was finished later within the course of final season, together with ProDday numbers. So, that ought to match or surpass that quantity as soon as these gamers (and extra) check totally.

The highest CB from mix testing was Iowa State’s Darien Porter. He had a close to excellent 9.99 RAS (10 is the max), with elite pace (4.3 40-yard sprint) and agility. Nice dimension (6027, 195) and explosion. Supreme 33 1/8” arms Pittsburgh appears to be like for, and 9” arms.

Kentucky’s Maxwell Hairston (9.71 RAS) has elite pace (lightning quick 4.28 40-yard sprint) and explosion. Okay dimension and no agility testing. 31” arms and eight 3/4” arms.

UTSA’s Zah Frazier (9.28) has elite pace (4.36 40), good dimension and explosion, and okay agility. 32 7/8” arms and eight 1/4” arms.

Florida’s Jason Marshall (9.03) has nice explosion, good dimension and pace, however no agility assessments. 30 1/4” arms and 9 1/4” arms.

Jahdae Barron of Texas (9.0) rounds out the highest tier. He has elite pace (4.39 40), good dimension and explosion. No agility testing. 29 5/8” arms and 9 1/2” arms.

Seven gamers within the eight vary. Kansas State’s Jacob Parrish (8.95) has elite pace (4.35 40), nice explosion, however poor dimension (5096, 191). No agility assessments. 30 7/8” arms and 9” arms.

Robert Longerbeam of Rutgers (8.78) has elite pace (4.39 40), nice explosion, however poor dimension (5110, 175). No agility testing. 31 1/2” arms and eight 1/2” arms.

Trey Amos of Ole MIss (8.72) has nice dimension (6006, 195) and pace (4.43 40). Okay explosion, and no agility drills. 31 1/4” arms and 9” arms.

Western Michigan’s Bilhal Kone (8.54) has nice pace (4.43 40), good dimension, with okay explosion. No agility assessments. 307/8” arms and 9” arms.

California’s Nohl Williams (8.32) has nice dimension (6003, 199), good pace, however poor explosion. No agility drills. 30 3/4” arms and 9” arms.

UCF’s Mac McWilliams (8.04) has nice pace (4.41 40), with okay dimension. Didn’t qualify in explosion (no broad), and no agility testing. 29 7/8” arms, 8 3/8” arms.

Villanova’s Isas Waxter (8.01) has elite dimension (6012, 209), good explosion, and okay pace. No agility drills. 31 3/4” arms and 9 1/2” arms.

After a considerable drop off, two cornerbacks within the six tier. Virginia Tech’s Dorian Sturdy (6.97) has good dimension and pace, with okay explosion. No agility assessments. 30 7/8” arms and 9 1/4” arms.

USC’s Jaylin Smith (6.43) has good pace, however poor explosion and dimension (5104, 187). Agility – DNP. 29 7/8” arms and 9 1/4” arms.

One within the five-range: Mello Dotson of Kansas (5.75). He has good dimension and explosion, however poor pace (4.59 40). No agility drills. 31 1/2” arms and eight 1/2” arms.

Two gamers within the four-range. UCF’s BJ Adams (4.77) is the lone CB within the four-range. He has good dimension and pace, however poor explosion. DNP in agility. 31 3/4” arms and eight 3/4” arms. Oregon’s Jabbar Muhammad (4.1). He has good agility, however very poor dimension (5091, 182). Didn’t qualify in explosion (no broad), and DNP within the 40.

The bottom cornerback RAS on the mix was LSU’s Zy Alexander (3.96). He had good dimension, okay pace, however very poor explosion (significantly a 31.5-inch vertical). No agility testing. 31” arms and 9 1/4” arms.

Some intriguing athleticism on the place, with pace protruding most throughout the board. Darien Porter’s close to excellent rating is spectacular, one other energy on his resume. Of 35 gamers listed at cornerback, solely three did each agility drills. Professional days will likely be key to watch, together with safeties that Pittsburgh could have a look at to hopefully certain up the DB room.

For those who just like the numbers, it’s unlucky when gamers don’t check totally on the mix. It will likely be attention-grabbing to watch the professional days and proceed to see how the lads stack up within the coming weeks when Platt updates the location with the unofficial numbers.
