“[Abby] is instinctual and when someone follows their instincts it’s very obvious to play off that person,” defined Sauerbrunn. “You can see she’s not hesitating. She steps strong and she drops strong.”
“She stepped right in [with the U.S.] and played how she was playing in the league,” Sauerbrunn added. “She’s had great form in NWSL and she’s carried that over here. To me, she looks really confident and I don’t think she’s playing any differently. I think she has a great range of passing and she’s definitely put that on display.”
Sam Mewis, who has been a teammate of Dahlkemper at UCLA, as knowledgeable with the North Carolina Braveness, and now with the nationwide group, thinks her longtime good friend is able to develop into a daily for the U.S.
“It’s been so much fun for me to watch her grow and I’ve been rooting for her to get this callup,” Mewis stated. “She’s been doing nice, I’m actually pleased with her. She simply works so laborious. She’s a type of individuals who actually waited for her alternative and had religion that it will come. I’m actually pleased with her and joyful for her and I do know she’ll proceed to do very well.
“I think she really had that confidence deep down that she knew she could do it. She’s one of those people who, being here isn’t enough.
